Abstract

The Bhagavad Gita is a 700-verse Hindu scripture, part of the Mahabharata, featuring a dialogue between Prince Arjuna and Lord Krishna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Facing moral crisis, Arjuna learns from Krishna about duty (dharma), selfless action (karmayoga), devotion (bhakti), and the eternal nature of the soul, guiding him to fight for righteousness without attachment. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna teaches in Chapter 14 verses 3 and 4 that “He is the seed-giving Father and the total material substance, Prakriti, is the womb.” He impregnated it with the individual souls, and thus all living beings are born.
